The Light
recorded on What She Say (2026)

Such a sadness is death.
Such a void is left of life.
But once the light it escaped me
And I viewed this wonderful sight:
As I floated there in darkness
And I gaped across the gap
I watched the light of all our lives
And it warmed from me a laugh.

I became aware of a part of me
Which I never knew could be
To which I dearly hold so tight
Yet its strength surpasses me.
This light which barely ever shines
Its brightness full unfold
Is the basis of our structure
And foundation of our soul.

And in my dreams I often feel,
So still throughout the night,
An awesomeness of power
As it fills me with its might.
And suddenly I realize
The weight of all its worth
And I know that it will be some time
Before I leave this earth.
